February 23, 2026 “A Season of Gentle Awakening!”

I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.

I am excited to share that my second book, Daily Devotional: 12 Steps to Unshakable Recovery, is now published. I would be grateful for your support in purchasing a copy. Your support helps me continue serving those who live with mental health and substance misuse challenges. This devotional is also meant to offer you hope and encouragement as you walk the path toward healing, renewal, and abundant health.

The daylight hours are growing longer. On mild winter days, while walking our dog, I hear birds singing. These signs tell us that a season of awakening is close. Thinking about spring can bring comfort and peace. It is also a good time to reflect.

Are we who we thought we would be at this point in our lives?

Do we put more value on checking off a to-do list, or on loving our neighbor? Do we allow ourselves to be pulled away from Recovery? Distractions do not mean we are lazy or avoiding healing. When we choose a relationship with Recovery, our mind and heart move together. But when distractions go unexamined, they can slowly turn into resentment.

Worry divides our minds. We may be physically present, yet feel split inside. Recovery is not about filling our days with activity. It is about choosing what truly matters. Talking about Recovery and staying connected to healing relationships are some of the most important parts of our lives.

So we ask ourselves:
What comes first in our lives?
What feels urgent?
What is quiet and easily overlooked?

Is our mind and heart in the right place for Recovery? Notice what pulls us apart. It may be unexamined ambition, comparing ourselves to others, or a quiet need to prove our worth. These things can tug at us and break our focus.

During your time of reflection, gently sit with these questions. Ask yourself what small changes might support your Recovery and strengthen your mental well-being. Be kind and patient with yourself as you listen.

Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
