January 5, 2026 “Recovery Is Home!”

I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.

Welcome to a new year.

What makes Recovery our home? It is not a perfect place, but no place is.

There may be painful reminders, just as there are in our families and personal relationships.

What makes Recovery our home can be hard to explain. There is something in our hearts that speaks to us and gently pulls us toward Recovery.

We are called by Recovery itself. Because of this quiet message from deep within, we sense that this is where we belong. Recovery is home.

The call comes in many ways. It is not just a one time moment. It keeps reaching out to us. Some of us were called through childhood experiences. Some were called in early adulthood through mental health or substance misuse struggles. Some were called after losing close relationships.

The call keeps coming. We are drawn to Recovery by something deep in our hearts that tells us Recovery is calling us right now.

The hardest part of listening to the call is not the distance we travel, the inconvenience, or even letting go of a life filled with pain and suffering. The hardest part may be believing that we are worthy of forgiveness, love, and compassion.

A difficult question may rise in us. Why would Recovery reach for our hearts? Who are we that Recovery would want to ease our pain?

But Recovery does not ask who should belong. It asks only if we are willing to say yes.

That is the difference.

What is our answer?

Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
Let us embrace it together.
