Recovery is a gift meant to be shared. When we make time each day for prayer and reflection, we strengthen our connection with God—our Higher Power—and with Recovery itself. In those quiet moments, we find direction, purpose, and peace.
Recovery walks beside us through life’s highest joys and deepest pains. What makes it so beautiful is that it cannot be bought or sold. We receive freely, and we give freely.
When a friend suffers, we open our hearts and allow God to work through us, offering comfort without expecting anything in return. When I struggle with depression or anxiety, my friends in Recovery do the same for me—they give their time, love, and understanding without asking for anything in return.
Through the 12 Steps, we learn how to heal and grow. Even when we don’t fully understand how Recovery works in our lives, we can trust it will speak to us. Our struggles may not disappear, but we never face them alone.
If we give our lives to Recovery, we will see miracles unfold. I’ve seen this truth through the daily devotionals of Bruce Downes, The Catholic Guy, who shares freely every day. I am creating a devotional—“12 Steps to Unshakeable Recovery”—coming in early 2026.
How do you give faith away? How do you give freely, expecting nothing in return?
Peace
Larry
