May 17, 2024 Truth and Life Awaiting Us

When we support each other in Recovery we discover the truth and life awaiting us. We realize the importance of participating in a community, telling peers to join us is healing. We are fed by our peers and the people we support. Years of experience make us qualified to offer support to peers.

We are the spiritual food for ourselves and those who have a mental health issue, addiction, or past trauma. While we live and breathe we have a full life. We can bring hope, healing, and health to those in our circle of influence.

When I was suffering with sadness, anxiety, and depression I thought I could battle the illness with little to no support. Now I realize I was not being truthful to myself and what I was doing was not enough. The scales around my eyes began to shed. I recognized the need for support groups, therapy, proper nutrition, exercise, and becoming an author.

I am fed twice per day. Once during my reflection time in the morning, the other is researching my blog, writing a blog, and publishing so that others may find enrichment and nourishment from my opinions. Let’s celebrate in this moment the steps we have taken to Recover. The shuffle-producing small steps that accumulate over time will become our crowning achievement.

Peace

Larry
