When someone rings our doorbell and we go to see who it is, how do we greet them? Many of us might smile and say, “Come on in.”
In life, when we focus only on what we lack, things can feel hopeless. The anxiety of not knowing what’s next, and the pain we can’t seem to escape, can be overwhelming. But Recovery is always good. Its compassion never ends. Deep within our hearts, there is hope.
Recovery never leaves us. Wherever we are—emotionally, physically, spiritually, or mentally—it is right there beside us. Recovery is never confused about how to help. It knows what we need, even when we don’t. When we take small, faithful actions each day, we begin to see the fruit of its closeness in our lives.
When we open our hearts and recognize Recovery standing at the door, we can welcome it in. We no longer want to drown in self-pity. We long to know its wisdom and peace. So, we open the door wide, smile, and say, “Come on in.”
