May is Mental Health Awareness Month. If you would like to get involved or learn more about this, go to Home | SAMHSA – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.
Recovery is a daily, intentional act of courage. Often, we
carry blind spots—especially around mental health and substance misuse. We may sense the struggle but avoid naming it, fearing what others might think.

Stigma fuels this silence. Thoughts like “I’ll lose my job,” “My family won’t accept me,” or “People will reject me” take root from culture, community, or upbringing.
But healing begins when we face what we’ve hidden. Trustworthy people can lovingly help us see what we’ve overlooked. With honesty, humility, and support, we can commit to the work and walk into the light of our healing.
Remember, Recovery is happening right now, in this moment.
