I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.
Why does Recovery focus so much on hope?
Hope in Recovery matters because it gives color and meaning to life—even to our pain. When we have hope, we stop rushing. We are no longer focused on quick results. Instead, we begin to trust the process.
Sometimes growth feels slow. We may wonder, “Is anything really happening?” After the newness of Recovery fades, it can feel like nothing is changing. But Recovery grows over time, even when we cannot see it.
Real growth is often quiet. It is steady and hidden. Later, we begin to see the changes that were taking place inside us all along. We can gently ask, “What is Recovery doing for me right now?”
Spiritual patience is an act of hope. It means we keep going, even when we do not see results right away. Lasting growth is rarely sudden. It builds slowly, step by step, as we live it each day.
Hope in Recovery shines brightly. It carries the promise of a better future. It brings life and purpose, even when progress feels slow.
I have walked this Recovery path for over thirty years. When I look back, I see times when growth was very slow—like a turtle crossing the road. Other times, growth came quickly—like a rabbit running fast.
Right now, I am facing challenges with my physical health. At times, it feels like nothing is improving. But when I look closer, I can see small changes. I have changed my diet, and it has helped reduce some discomfort. The progress is slow, but I trust that, with the help of my doctors, more healing will come.
So we ask ourselves:
Will I stay on the path when growth is slow?
Will I keep going when I cannot see progress?
Hope helps us answer, “Yes.”
Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
