I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.
Recovery prepares us to find meaning and purpose in life. It stirs the grace within us and helps us be transformed. I want to gently encourage you to stay focused on the promises of Recovery and to draw strength from them each day.
First, we choose to heal. We make up our minds to reject anything outside of us that tries to pull us off course. We must do this daily—sometimes hourly, or even minute by minute. At times, it may feel like nothing is changing and the same struggles keep returning. When this happens, we remind ourselves not to lose hope.
Second, we hold onto the promise of believing in God as He has revealed Himself to us. God is patiently working through the rough places in our Recovery. When we stay open and listen, we can hear His loving guidance.
Third, we trust the promises found in our true identity. We are wonderfully and beautifully made. From this truth comes the gentle call to love our Recovery deeply and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
This is the call of Recovery—a journey shaped by promises we return to again and again as we heal. May we find the strength and motivation to continue this work, trusting that Recovery is already at work within each of us.
Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
