I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.

I am excited to share that my second book, Daily Devotional: 12 Steps to Unshakable Recovery, is now published. I would be grateful for your support in purchasing a copy. Your support helps me continue serving those who live with mental health and substance misuse challenges. This devotional is also meant to offer you hope and encouragement as you walk the path toward healing, renewal, and abundant health.

Recovery is about choosing life. This choice comes in stages for each of us. When we decide to heal, it can be tempting to seek safety in the outside world. This may look like finding a spouse, seeking approval from others, or pouring ourselves into work or success.

We can begin to believe we are the only ones in control of our lives, forgetting the role of God—our Higher Power. We may wander through life looking for a quick answer to take away our anxiety and pain.

When we choose life, we choose light instead of darkness. We choose hope instead of despair. We choose Recovery instead of isolation. We choose to see the good within ourselves rather than stay stuck in past mistakes.

Recovery honors the effort it takes to stay on this path. It is a kind of resurrection—a new life. Sometimes we must push through pain. Other times we need to rest. Recovery often calls for patience and quiet strength.

When I chose Recovery, the beginning was hard. I faced childhood trauma. I learned why I felt sad, depressed, and anxious for so long. I also faced how hard it was for me to form close emotional connections.

What helped me choose life instead of spiritual death? I surrendered my life to Jesus. I listened to my doctors and took medication to support my brain. I opened my heart and formed honest connections with others.

At first, I moved back and forth—choosing Recovery, then slipping back into darkness. Today, I live with deep hope. Much of the darkness has faded. It is now only a shadow, growing lighter each time I choose life.

Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
