We are standing on the shore of the Mississippi. Recovery is so much bigger than what is written in the 12 steps or in any book. There are parts of it we can’t put into words, yet they help us see what Recovery can really do in our lives.
That thought makes us pause. We want to know—or at least imagine—what those deeper parts might be. As we walk quietly along the riverbank, we reflect on Recovery and what it means.
We begin to ask Recovery to show us some of these hidden gifts. We are not looking for a message to publish, preach, or teach. Instead, we are opening ourselves to a deeper understanding. This is not fiction—it is prayer. It is a reflection. It is a way of listening with the heart.
Recovery is our story. We don’t need to invent it. We only need to listen. So we stop, and we ask Recovery to speak—to give us insights into who we are and who we can become.
