In early Recovery, it’s common to wonder when our mental wellness will return. We may try to predict when sadness, fear, anxiety, depression, or irritation will finally fade. But today’s reflection reminds us to stay focused on working the 12 steps, instead of predicting the timing of our healing. Recovery calls us to live in readiness.
We begin to see that fears and doubts about the truths of Recovery rest on faith. The questions may change, but the heart of the struggle stays the same: How can practicing the 12 steps bring us back to health? The answer goes beyond reason—it belongs to faith. None of us are exempt from believing in what we cannot see.
We all believe, though at times we struggle to understand. Still, we keep walking the path of Recovery. In each step, we find new inspiration to keep moving forward, one day at a time.
