From an early age, we were taught to say “thank you.” More than simple manners, these words become a reflection of kindness—toward one another and toward God, our Higher Power.
Faith invites us to give thanks for the blessings we have received. Gratitude is not only an act of the soul, but also a gift for the body and mind. Research reminds us that being thankful improves mood, strengthens relationships, and can even help us live longer.
When we choose gratitude, we shift our focus from what is missing to what is present. We begin to see abundance where there was lack, and hope where there was despair. Gratitude lifts our hearts upward, drawing us closer to God.
There are many ways to practice gratitude in daily life—through prayer, meditation, volunteering, or writing a note of thanks. Keeping a gratitude journal helps us remember the blessings, both big and small, that we might otherwise overlook. In doing so, we create space for peace, joy, and a deeper connection with God’s love.
