We’re on the road, heading home, feeling drained and unsupported. The voice on the radio suggests, “Connect with God—a higher power—and you’ll never feel empty inside.” The words stir a mix of doubt and restlessness. Four hours of driving usually calms our anxious mood. But now, only miles from home, emptiness lingers.
John exhales, half-laughing. “What the heck… I’ll put this car on cruise control and listen for God’s voice.”
Moments later, the radio says, “I am always with you. You are never alone. I love you. Let go.”
The car feels alive. Hope stirs. Recovery isn’t just hard work—it’s trust. God meets us in the ordinary—while driving, breathing, living. With Him, we are never alone.
