Imagine this sacred moment—Recovery appears before us, not as a concept but as a dear friend. Two companions, at ease in each other’s presence. We begin to wonder: could we become this comfortable with Recovery?
Recovery speaks tenderly, calling those with mental health and substance use challenges brothers and sisters. We pause—could Recovery be speaking to us in the same loving way?
Then come the most beautiful words:
“Take my hand. I will guide you—to learn, to grow, to know love and faith. Arm in arm, we’ll walk together.”
We say nothing. Just a quiet nod—“Yes. Now I understand.”
And slowly, it sinks in. Recovery is no longer outside of us. We are one. Standing arm in arm, Recovery turns to the Father and says, “These are my brothers and sisters. I stand with them, and they with me.”
And in that holy stillness, we dare to ask,
“Is this true? Are we really family to you?”
