Our healing brings us closer to God (higher power) because a change of heart is taking place. Our striving is to Recover; it is ongoing, everything is ongoing.
Our desire to connect, participate, and follow the 12 steps is not done when a therapy session ends, a support group ends, or suffering is managed. Our Recovery begins when these activities end, so we can go out to apply them in our lives.
We understand that when a change of heart happens in us, then we surrender by saying, “Lord, your will be done.”
What joy will come into our lives when we surrender?
