March 24, 2025 “Be Still!”

Reflecting on several years ago, I noticed a lapse in time as I was getting closer to the darkness in my heart. Once I reached my darkest hour, I knew it was time to face and endure the suffering that had added up over the years. I formed a team of people to help me Recover. This included my spouse, therapist, psychiatrist, friends, and two support groups. These people continue to give me the information and education I need to heal.

Some of them don’t know all the details of the tragedy and hurt I endured, so it is helpful for them to know the 12 steps of Mental Wellness. We realize the importance of understanding the steps or another program rooted in healing principles. Once we dip into the principles of Recovery, then it is a call to action for us.

Our relationships and connections in Recovery are vital to our heart, body, and soul. We want to note; avoid people who desire to keep us from healing. Our support teams are people who can take us up the mountain to help us make a radical adjustment in our lives. Our team members show us at the top of the mountain principles to practice as we look out on the horizon.

We listen to what members of our team tell us and gain an understanding of how to apply it in our lives. This is the purpose of Recovery and healing. Recovery calls us closer to wellness, closer so that when we arrive five years ahead we are closer to our ideal of healing.

It is not so much, “What we will do”. It is to listen to what our heart and soul tell us to do. To find answers, “Be still and know this is our time to heal”.
