Whether we are in Recovery or not there is much to be grateful for even if we nurture our hearts and minds for what is ahead in our lives. Work, celebrations, parenting responsibilities, sports activities, and a host of other events require our attention.
But there are also seasons of waiting and preparation quickly becoming a time to be overwhelmed and distracted and even exhausted. Recovery or not it is important to prepare our hearts and minds for nothing less than the gift of God (Higher Power) who is the ultimate healer. His gift is in our lives, and recovery lives in our homes, work, and all those places where we experience the joys and challenges of daily life.
Where can we find rest when life becomes a challenge to address? If we admit, that a break is necessary for our well-being we can feel the burdens of life lifted from our shoulders. This does not mean we don’t face the challenges in our lives. Sometimes rest is necessary to refuel our hearts and walk the next mile of our journey. Through the people we surround ourselves with and those in our Recovery Community, our childlike nature may find direction and be renewed.
