Three points in today’s blog. First, Do not put that which is Recovery in front of dogs or cast pearls in front of swine for they will trample it to pieces. Dogs and swine are used as attributes in Recovery to people in a pre-contemplation state of mind (People have no intention of changing their behavior in the near future). Recovery is telling us today we cannot put in front of people what they do not understand. It is like placing the 12 steps of Recovery in front of an 8-year-old which is beyond their understanding.
Second, treat others as we want to be treated. Love one another. Sometimes power and selfishness get in the way. Recovery is concerned about this and teaches humility, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and healing.
Third, the road of destruction is wide and many people go that way instead of the narrow way. Recovery tells us we must be in alignment with our assignment. Give voice to the truth of the steps or other programs we follow. When we progress along the road to Recovery we are to help teach in a way people can consume and be nourished by. We are to love every person like we want to be loved. This means every single human being.
Despite the harm caused by my father to me (I speak extensively about this in my book https://superhumanbeing.net/) I have forgiven him and love him. Recovery calls me to treat every human being from conception to death like I want to be treated. I work hard to be kind and gentle because the road to destruction is wide and many follow it.
I take great delight in each of you when you take the time to read my blogs and take action on the thoughts I provide to you. I rejoice over you with singing and dancing (Dancing may not be the right visual since I have two left feet).
