Faith for those of us in Recovery is an example of the power of faith in Recovery. I witness people in Recovery willing to hand over what they have learned about themselves to people just starting or in the infancy of healing.
Imagine approaching a stream of water separated on either side. The mentor and mentee cross over to the other side. The mentor has given all the information about Recovery to the mentee. The mentor says, “Ask for whatever I can give to you before I take leave.”
The mentee with boldness, generosity, and faith responds, “May I receive double the portion of your strength to heal?”
We come to Recovery in a spot of darkness. We participate in therapy, support groups, and peer support, which is bold and cannot be outdone in generosity. We ask for things from Recovery with faith. We will be given the strength to carry out the purpose we are called to. May we have the boldness and faith of the mentor so we may experience love in our lives.
