Have you ever attended a sporting event such as a professional football or basketball game? Maybe you went to an event holding a large crowd? Do you recall the crowd stomping feeling like an earthquake under your legs? Does the ground shake like this when we attend various activities to aid our Recovery? I have not experienced any shaking when partaking in my Recovery.
In the early years of my Recovery, I was faced with much guilt and shame which made it uncomfortable for me to express myself to other people. During healing, I began to speak boldly about mental health, anxiety, and trauma. It helps reduce the guilt and shame I once allowed to dictate my thinking and actions. I am experiencing a spiritual renewal. The biggest challenge is an interior renewal of my heart.
I heard once, “Don’t be satisfied with little things. Recovery wants great things from us.” This means we may need to take small steps to bring about a renewal. Doing several little things can lead to a transformed way of living. We are called to shape our lives, homes, communities, schools, and places of employment.
By love, hope, and living our Recovery we shape our lives with faith. When we are excited about our growth it comes from the shaking of our inner heart. Be Bold! Be Imperfect! Be Present! & Recover.
Peace
Larry
