On Tuesday I had to do one of my favorite things, go to the dentist. The hygienist was poking, scrubbing, and scratching away at my teeth. For this visit, I was not scheduled to see my dentist. Usually, I see him every other time.
I was lounging in my chair and I noticed my hands were in a fist. I tend to tense up whenever I am having a procedure done. Suddenly out of the corner of my left eye, I noticed a man hovering over me. To my surprise, it was my dentist. He said, “I wanted to stop by to tell you how fantastic your book is. I am a young dad and it makes me think about how to parent my children.”
Yesterday was a grocery shopping day for our household. I am the person tasked with doing this each week. I exited the store with five bags of groceries. As I was rolling the cart to my car, I noticed a woman walking toward me. When she was closer I recognized her as a good friend of my wife. A few months ago she made a special effort to stop by our house so that she could have me autograph my book. She purchased the book on Amazon.
She recognized me, she opened up her arms to give me a big hug. She said, “Your book was really good and it is so honest with many intimate details.” I thanked her for her kind sentiments about the publication. She asked me to send a link to my blog so she could receive it daily.
Why am I telling you this? It is not to get you to buy a book, although that is nice, but to share the experiences of my readers. I want people to gain a better understanding of mental health conditions, addictions, and trauma, cause people to self-reflect, and that no one needs to go through Recovery alone.
When people speak to me about their experiences when reading my book they are the SuperHuman Beings I write about in my publication.
Peace
Larry
