There is no part of our lives that is outside the power of Recovery. When symptoms surface such as feeling sad, anxious, trauma, hearing voices, and others surrendering to Recovery at every turn and in every event will do what we cannot. There is a catch. We still need to prepare ourselves for these uncomfortable times. It is a luxury of devoting our lives to activities we are passionate about while doing boring, mundane work is easy to ignore.
The mundane activities include; mindfulness, implementing the 12 steps of Recovery, exercising, eating nutritious meals, attending a support group, follow through with the treatment plan of our therapist and doctors. There is honor in hard work, but we do not endeavor and labor for our worth. We do not work from a place of emptiness but from the bounty of our hearts.
When we have done all we can we hand over to Recovery’s way which is greater than our own. When we wear out our resources, we can turn to the abundance of Recovery. It is comforting to know we can reach out to Recovery at any point. Like taking Rolaids to settle our stomachs Recovery brings us relief.
Peace
