October 19, 2026: “The Gentle Voice of Recovery!”

I hope that wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you.

The love Recovery offers us is a spiritual fruit. We are not left to our own devices. The Spirit that guides us toward Recovery teaches us and reminds us of what we might forget. Still, we need an inner nudge, a gentle alarm, to wake us up. Recovery seems to be working for our good, often in ways we cannot yet understand.

Recovery speaks up for us against the shameful and negative voices that judge us and put us down. This gives us hope. We no longer have to face life alone or try to do everything perfectly. We can trust that our lives are being shaped by something greater than our own efforts.

The mystery of Recovery is one of the most profound ways to understand what happens between Recovery and our souls. True Recovery is a kind of sacred partnership. We both give, and we both receive. Together, we discover a shared truth and joy.

Almost all heroes hear an inner voice that speaks to them. Their heroism lies in their ability to hear that spiritual voice and take the risk of following it. Those of us in Recovery are SuperHuman Beings, the title of my first book. We are people who dare to heal.

Listening to our inner selves is more than a psychological activity. Through this listening, we find meaning, discover our gifts, and learn to enjoy life. Recovery helps us grow into who we were created to be. We do not have to make this journey alone.

I take time to meditate on Recovery. Sometimes, I receive a gentle whisper that offers me guidance. One barrier I often face is shame. I have come to realize that the messages shame wants me to believe have no real foundation in the truth of Recovery.

I answer my shame with words of kindness: “I am imperfect, and I forgive myself,” or “I was created good and wonderful, not bad.” When I ignore these painful thoughts, they can grow stronger and make it harder to care for my mental health. By facing them with compassion, I make room for healing.

Recovery seems to have brought forth something that continues to grow and renew itself from the inside out. As we listen, learn, and open our hearts, this healing continues to unfold within us.

Remember, Recovery is happening right now, in this moment.
