December 30, 2025 “Trusting Recovery in the Unseen Places!”

I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.

Trust the tension. Recovery often works in ways we cannot see. Our mental, emotional, and physical health work together to heal when we commit to Recovery and walk with it each day.

All things take time to unfold. There is a tension between thinking about Recovery and living it out with our senses and actions. Recovery is about hope, beauty, and faith. Yet the change of our hearts does not happen all at once. We trust that active participation in Recovery will bring clarity and open the door to new beginnings.

The in between places, the places we cannot see, are where trust is needed most. Our faith is often tested there. Do we trust Recovery even when we do not see results? Much of the work is hidden and not yet revealed. We walk through seasons where we cannot see the fruit, the meaning behind what we are going through. We wait. We hope. We wonder. Sometimes we wrestle. We complain to Recovery and even argue with it.

I was a basketball player. Most of my preparation was hidden. I learned from coaches and counselors and watched other athletes. The work happened quietly, slowly, and often without notice. I spent many seasons practicing alone in the driveway at home. In high school, I began to grow, and that growth later led me to play college basketball.

Recovery often works in us the same way. Silence does not mean nothing is happening. Delay does not mean no. Hidden does not mean absent. A season without fruit does not mean fruit will never come. A fig tree takes two to three years to bear fruit. An olive tree can take three to five years to mature. Growth requires time and maturity.

Recovery does its deepest work in unseen places. It is shaping us, renewing us, and changing us. We often look for fast and dramatic moments, but most of Recovery’s work is slow, steady, and quiet. Like seeds under the soil, its roots grow long before anything appears on the surface.

In the tense places of our lives, Recovery gently says, “I am working within you. Trust me.” Faith is believing before clarity arrives. Recovery is good, wise, faithful, and present. It guides us today and leads us into tomorrow. Trust grows not by trying harder, but by knowing Recovery more deeply.

Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
Let us embrace it together.
