November 6, 2025 “Bridging the Gap!”

If we waited to know who we are or what we are about before we started Recovery, well, we would still be sitting around trying to figure ourselves out instead of healing.

We might be frightened to start, that’s normal. There’s this very real thing that runs rampant in us. It’s called Imposter Syndrome. This is when we are unable to internalize the essence of who we are. It means that we feel like we are living a lie, like we’re just making life up as we move through each day.

During the first half of my life, Imposter Syndrome dominated my thoughts and feelings. Struggling with depression and anxiety was something I kept to myself. I used to think, if people really knew what was going on inside of me, they would not accept me.

Despite many accomplishments, I felt empty inside and alone in my struggles. On the outside, it seemed I had everything put together. When I began informing people of my mental health struggles, their responses were, I was unable to see this in you because you looked like you had it all.

Guess what, ask any one of us doing truly Recovery work, and we will tell you the truth – We don’t know where our healing and good stuff always comes from. We just show up to place our trust in God – Higher Power and implement the 12-steps of unshakeable Recovery.

Let’s work together to bridge the gap between What we are and What we Want to be.

Make it a great day
