Recovery tells us, “I see you for who you are.”
It doesn’t matter if we are wealthy or struggling, healthy or hurting, filled with fear, shame, or anxiety. Recovery doesn’t seek the rich and powerful—it seeks those of us who are in pain and able to hold our suffering with kindness or ease.
Recovery says, “I am coming to change you.” It enters not just our homes but our hearts. Sometimes we go to meetings, therapy, or support groups because we feel guilty about the past or unworthy in the present. We may even believe Recovery can’t reach us.
But this is what true healing is about. Recovery meets us right in the middle of our imperfections. It gently calls, “Come to me.”
Recovery wants to enter the house of our lives—our hearts—just as we are. And when we welcome it in, restoration and freedom begin to grow within us.
