October 23, 2025 “Strength in Our Weakness!”

Recovery is personal power. The grace we receive is enough for us, for power is made perfect in weakness. Many of us can easily see the flaws in others, yet we each have our own weaknesses, too.

I know mine—irritability, selfishness, and not always making time for daily prayer. Recovery invites us to embrace these weaknesses so that its power can live within us.

Too often, shame and guilt keep us stuck. But scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “I will boast gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”

Sometimes we get caught up in the rules of religion or the steps of Recovery and forget the heart of it all—our relationship with God, our Higher Power, and each other.

Let’s be bold and imperfect together. Let’s boast in our weaknesses, not as trophies, but as signs of our humanity. In doing so, we open ourselves to the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit, ready to meet our challenges with courage and love.
