When we reflect, do we listen for the inner workings of Recovery? The spirit may shine happiness, joy, compassion, and love into our hearts. In contrast, we may succumb to darkness through anger, bitterness, and envy.
Three brothers became envious of their youngest brother. The brothers were convinced their father liked him the best. Envy took over their hearts. They decided to sell their brother into slavery. He becomes the leader of a nation. Years later, his brothers approach him, not recognizing who he is. The beautiful part of this story is that the youngest brother forgives his brothers.
Recovery is a time to open our hearts to what we are asked to do. We may need to let go of anger, bitterness, and envy in our hearts by forgiving a person who has harmed us. This will free up capacity inside our hearts to embrace happiness, joy, compassion, and love. We can do this if we deepen our prayer life, deepen meditation in Recovery books, or a book by a person taking the journey to heal https://superhumanbeing.net/
