May 1, 2025 Hope & Joy In Action Part #19

Mental Health Month:

Join me during May to help change the conversation around mental health! Mental Health Awareness Month addresses the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. Whether by sharing your story, spreading awareness, or advocating for change, every action helps advance the acceptance that we can Recover from a mental health condition. https://www.nami.org/get-involved/awareness-events/mental-health-awareness-month/

If we are on a recovery journey, we may discover a need for hope and joy. Finding hope and joy when we are suffering is not easy. But if we trust recovery, hope and joy will be a part of our lives. Pam Sininek, in her talk about a Pilgrimage of Hope, says, “It doesn’t mean we will always be bouncy and happy. Hope will keep us from despair, and it will protect the joy in our lives.”

Can we accept our suffering and still love?

Can we accept our suffering and still be kind to others?

Can we accept our suffering and still smile?

When our day ends, we may want to self-reflect on how we did. Recovery wants us to be happy.

Suggested Action Step:

What kind of day did I have?

How did I reflect hope and joy to others?

What actions can you take to bring more hope and joy into your life?
