What am I working on right now?
Being an author is a privilege and blessing. I am making many connections with people interested in my lived experience and looking for mental health, addiction, and trauma resources to support people in Recovery. I want to share with you what I am up to.
- I host the virtual Peer Support Group on Thursday evenings from 6-7:00 p.m. Typically 3 to 6 people in Recovery join us.
- I have sent 260 blogs and appreciate it when people respond to a particular blog. People sometimes need clarification on a blog or share with me how it impacts their lives.
- The University of Wisconsin Green Bay Behavioral Health Training Partnership invited me on July 9 & 10, 2024 to participate in Crisis Services Overview. 11 people attended and dedicate their lives to support people with a mental health condition and addiction. My role is to bring a lived experience to the training. I am being asked to make a connection with UWGB-BHTP in the subsequent trainings they will offer. Again this ensures peers have a voice in how crisis workers are trained.
- Special Evening with L. J. Winter, Tuesday, September 24, 6-7 pm at the Dragon Tale Books store at 216 Main St. E Menomonie WI 54751. In recognition of September as National Suicide Awareness Prevention and National Recovery Month, author Larry Winter will discuss how to be a Superhuman Being. Author Statement: This Book Came About Due To My Lifelong Journey With A Mental Health Condition And The Impact Of Abuse. I Am One Of The Millions That Suffer From These Experiences In The United States. This Book Was Inspired By My Own Lived Experience With Severe Depression, Anxiety, Physical And Emotional Abuse, Addiction, And Trauma.
- I am writing a companion book to my original work, SuperHuman Being https://superhumanbeing.net/ The goal is to write 365 daily reflections for those of us with a mental health condition, addiction, and trauma. The objective is to support our Recovery during our daily meditation time or to encourage people to begin a routine using the daily reflections.
I am open to hearing from you on how I may be able to serve you well. Place your thoughts in an email and send your ideas my way. It blesses my heart to be available to those in Recovery or support people in Recovery.
