June 6, 2024 Begin With The End In Mind

We begin Recovery, What do we do now? We face this question as we explore the direction to finding hope, healing, and health. This is no joking matter since what we do next will create challenges for us. There is a spirit of wisdom and revelation in each of us attacking the problems of our minds, hearts, and souls.

When I began my journey of healing I realized something was not right with me. The path I chose was similar to painting a house. When I do not put a primer on the house first it will quickly peel and crack. I superficially covered the pain and suffering without addressing underlying reasons the paint cracked and peeled. Intellectually I could express what brought me to Recovery. However, it took me 20 years to experience a renewal of my heart and soul. Let’s just say, that once I applied the primer I began to find healing and peace.

Imagine what our lives will look like if we truly embrace our call to Recovery. In this scene, we are in the company of Recoveree’s open to peeling the cracked shell, being open, and vulnerable to an honest assessment of ourselves. It is at that moment when Recovery welcomes us in.

Steven Covey states, “Begin with the end in mind”. Take a step back for a moment. Imagine what hope, healing, and health will look like for us as we invest in our program of Recovery?

Peace
