February 7, 2024 Measurer of Progress

I was up and moving around today which I am thankful for. Earlier this week I let you know that the way the Doctor is measuring the healing to my right lung is by administering a Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan.

When I entered the emergency room (ER), the CT scan was one of the doctor’s first tests. This picture showed the extent of my illness (aspiration pneumonia). Approximately seven days later another CT scan was administered showing some progress due to high doses of antibiotics. I will have another scan on February 16 to determine the next steps.

I gradually continue to heal from this entire episode. As I made progress getting back into my routine I thought to myself, “It would be nice to have something similar to a CT scan to measure our healing from a mental health condition.” Imagine how much help this would be to our doctors ensuring people get the right medication, in the right amount, at the right time.

When the Doctor began administering the antibiotics to help me it took a few attempts to determine which ones would work best for me. With all this said, maybe there will be a test someday to measure what our body needs to manage a mental health condition.

Those that have sent messages to me during my recovery thank you from the bottom of my heart for your care and concern about my health.

Peace

Larry
