Yesterday I celebrated my 59th birthday. My wife asked me how I felt about my day. I don’t remember my exact response. However, I recognized how close to 60 I was. So what has happened during my life on this earth?
- I was born at 1:17 a.m. on August 20, 1964.
- I attended Catholic schools in grades 1 to 12.
- I broke my right wrist during middle school.
- I played basketball from grade school to college.
- I had six knee surgeries
- I received a Masters Degree.
- I have been a Social Worker for 32 years
- I have been a Certified Peer Specialist for 3 years
- I published my first book in April 2023
- I married my wife 8 years ago and have three beautiful daughters.
This is just a partial list. There are others that are not mentioned but for the purposes of this blog, I will stick to ten. I have several blessings in my life that provide purpose and meaning.
- A loving and merciful God.
- A supportive, compassionate, and loving wife.
- Three beautiful daughters
- My dad and both of my in-laws.
- Family and Friends.
- Great medical care.
- Support Groups to sustain my Recovery.
- Talent, skill, and knowledge to be an author.
- Financial Resources.
- Psychiatrist and therapist
What are your blessings? If you are comfortable share them with me. Saying them to others is purifying for the heart and soul.
