I am excited to share that my second book, Daily Devotional: 12 Steps to Unshakeable Recovery, is now available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Daily-Devotional-Steps-Unshakeable-Recovery-ebook
Please consider supporting my ministry as I continue to serve those living with mental health and substance misuse challenges. If you are able, I would also be grateful for an Amazon review. Reviews help others find the book and grow in hope.
Wherever you are today, please know this: Recovery is with you right where you are.
How do we tell the difference between Recovery and what pulls us away from it? Discernment helps us see clearly. In the early days of Recovery, growth often comes with peace and calm. Yet this peace may be tested. A dark inner voice may try to pull us away from the time and care we give to our healing.
For example, during a bright spiritual season, we may decide to spend a few minutes each day reading, praying, or reflecting. When a darker season comes, we may feel pushed to change those plans. We may feel tempted to give up the very practices that once helped us heal.
This darkness often invites us to undo earlier, healthier choices. It may suggest that we stop attending support groups, stop taking medication, or pull away from others. These are strong temptations, and we mustn’t give in to them.
During these darker times, we are called to stay firm and steady. This is usually not the right time to make big changes in our Recovery plan. Most often, the wisest path is to stay the course.
True growth does not come from changes made in fear or confusion. It comes from faithful discernment in Recovery—through awareness, understanding, and loving action.
Remember, Recovery is here right now, in this very moment.
