James is walking a familiar trail through the forest, his mind focused on his usual goal—get the body moving, clear the head. A figure approaches from the opposite direction. James offers a polite nod, expecting just another passerby. But the stranger looks directly at him and says gently, “Don’t leave before the miracle.”
The words land softly—but James brushes them off. He has no time for riddles. “Are you the one who grooms the trails here?” he asks.
He doesn’t know he’s speaking to a spiritual monk.
And we’re watching—watching James, a person walking his Recovery journey, unknowingly touched by something sacred. He doesn’t recognize it yet.
So instead of speaking to James, we turn to the monk.
“Sir,” we ask quietly, “how often are you truly present… and how often do we pass you by without even knowing?”
Sometimes, the miracle is right in front of us. We just have to stay long enough to see it.
