Recovery sometimes depicts the shortcomings in our lives as the enemy. But today’s reflection encourages us to draw closer to the healing power of the 12 steps and the love they offer. So not all people condemn us for our shortcomings. We also must be careful to lump some people into categories with labels like ‘they’ or ‘them’ thus missing an opportunity to see a person, not a stereotype.
Our lives are part of a bigger and larger plan. We allow the 12 steps to bubble up from within to do Recovery’s work, including healing ourselves and those joining us on this journey. Sometimes we have been mistreated and abandoned because we elected to walk the road less traveled. When we allow ourselves to see the world through the lens of a child we grow wings and carry a message of hope.
Our healing is a blessing that comes in the name of Recovery. It points us toward loving ourselves and each other. We say, “Blessed are we who gain insight into our recovery and share our journey toward hope, healing, and health”.
Let us be aware Recovery comes to us in unexplained ways, during those times let’s voice out loud with hearts full of love and trust. Recovery is our rock that trains our hands for healing and prepares our fingers for action. Recovery is love, strength, healing, purpose, and where we find meaning.
