Today I am celebrating my 60th birthday. I just got off the phone with my wife. She wanted to know what it feels like to be 60 years old. My response was twofold. First, as I reflect on the years, I have gained abundant blessings and wisdom. Second, I am in touch with my mortality.
This past year, I have been intentional about what I give my time and energy to. I have been requested to offer my talents to activities focusing on mental health. Between sharing my book, managing emails, facilitating a support group, writing a companion reflection to my book, and writing a blog I am putting 10 to 20 hours in each week. As one bear said to the other bears, “This is just right”. Anything outside of these activities I most often said, “No”.
