Do you have a person who is an influencer in your life? I have a relationship with a functional Doctor. A functional Doctor is a person that identifies and addresses the root causes of disease. My doctor opened my mind to look at physical health differently. This Doctor is an influencer and convinced me to engage in treatment approaches outside the traditional medicine path.
If a person has influenced you, it levels humility into your life. I faithfully attempt each day Monday through Friday to incorporate the 12 steps of Recovery in the lives of those receiving my blog or accessing it on the website. I hope to influence people to commit to a lifestyle of healing. The teaching of the steps does not change regardless of whether a person does not accept them or is faithful to them.
These beliefs and morals have withstood the test of time. The beliefs are transmitted through people who came before us and upheld by support groups and people crossing our Recovery pathway. When facilitating a group or writing a blog I communicate lovingly and with fearless courage. I attempt each day to work the program with fervor and humility. I do this as an imperfect person.
When I no longer covet the light of the steps, placing them under the bushel basket of fear, I catch myself to seek the unwavering promises of healing. This pours out on us a spirit of freedom a spirit of love that will cast out all fear, removes all doubt, and eliminates all obstacles that hinder us from being the true human beings we are born to be.
Where do you get hope from in your life?
Who is your rock and fortress in your life? Why?
Whether we are in Recovery or not let us stand firm and let our light shine in the world (spiritual, family, work, school, etc.) and for others to see.
