December 6, 2023 Be Present

People ask me from time to time, “How do you decide what you will write about each day?” Those in my circle who write blogs map out ahead of time what their topic for the day will be. That works best for them.

The subtitle for my book is, “Be Bold, Be Imperfect, Be Present, and Recover.” Rather than having each blog topic planned out, I choose to decide what I will write about daily. I listen to my heart in the present moment helping me decide the theme for my blog each day.

The theme comes to my consciousness in the most unusual circumstances. Here are a few examples:

  1. Washing dishes
  2. Sitting in the grocery line
  3. During meditation time
  4. Speaking with my author’s group
  5. Walking our dog Sadi
  6. Interacting with other people
  7. Listening to my pastor’s sermon
  8. Participating in a Support Group

Do you have similar moments when practicing your Recovery skills?

Do you have similar moments even if you are not in Recovery?

I am learning how precious the present moment is. It may be due to my age or a daily practice of checking in with my thoughts and feelings, the awareness of how my body is reacting, and a willingness to be vulnerable by connecting with you through my daily blog.

Inspirational and healing thoughts and feelings can arise at any moment during our day. Be Present and see where it may be nudging you.

Peace

Larry
