I missed connecting with you during the past week. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Holiday.
My wife, in-laws, and I traveled to Jonesboro Arkansas to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter and son-in-law. We stayed at an Airbnb in the country outside of Jonesboro. The average daily temperature was in the 50s.
We played cards and put a puzzle together. Our daughter escorted my in-laws to the historic childhood home of Johnny Cash and toured a cotton gin operated by our son-in-law’s Uncle Fred.
We celebrated Thanksgiving at our son-in-law’s parent’s home. The usual fare was turkey, ham, dressing, sweet potatoes (made by my mother-in-law) vegetables, pumpkin, and pecan pies. Most of us are Green Bay Packers fans and we were thrilled by their victory over the Detroit Lions.
When I travel for a period of time, in this case, one week, it is a challenge to stick to my recovery routine. For example, I took a break from my exercise practice despite a nearby gym. I think it is important to give my body a chance to regenerate. Blogging is a time I use to reflect and meditate. Not blogging gives me an opportunity to refill my bucket and pick up where I left off since my last post. Taking a break is restful and gives me the motivation to continue my Recovery.
I am blessed to have a family that cares about the well-being of each other. Even when distance is an obstacle the love we have for each other sustains time and space.
What are your blessings?
What do you do to adjust your Recovery Plan when vacationing or time away from home?
Peace
Larry
