November 6, 2023 The Beauty Of Relationships

Relationships are a common denominator that each of us has in our lives. The depth of friendship varies from person to person. Reviewing the course of my lifetime I have had several close friends and a few intimate friends.

Close friends are two people who feel and demonstrate affection for each other and concern for the well-being of another. Close friends usually want to be with each other regularly. Intimate friends trust, accept, and support each other. There is a deeper sense of connection as compared to a close friendship. Very few topics are taboo; you believe you can talk about anything and everything. Another term for an intimate friend is “best friend.” https://socialself.com/blog/levels-friendships/

During the various stages of my development, I had a close friend. It began in childhood, then adolescence, then young adulthood, and finally adulthood. Each of these stages it was someone different. It takes me a lot to acknowledge others with love, to trust people, and create and maintain a balance in a relationship.

I continue to struggle with relationships due to past mistrust issues from my childhood. Despite my struggle, I know the importance of being connected to other people and the healing they offer me. I will let you in on a little secret, my wife is my “best friend.”

How are relationships impacting your health and well-being?

How do you acknowledge the ones you love?

Peace

Larry
