September 20, 2023 Positive Faith

I remember when I had faith that I would always be depressed and sad. I did several things in an attempt to manage the degree of depression and anxiety I felt. I worked hard to achieve in the field of social work, exercise, and make things look as if I were the happiest guy on the planet.

I began to realize I was walking around in a pair of shoes two sizes too small for my feet. I felt pain and discomfort, realizing I had to reframe my mind and tell myself, “It is time for a new pair of shoes that fit”.

A few years ago I took on the negative belief of being depressed and sad by changing my perspective and telling myself if I have a positive faith, my life will be better and I will begin to see changes.

I am happy to report the last 30 days my mood has been stable, my motivation has improved, and I am experiencing a feeling of joy.

What have I been doing? 1. Attending support groups two times a week. 2. Working with my doctors to normalize my hormones. 3. Spending time in prayer 4. Attending therapy and psychiatry sessions. 5. Exercising 6. Clean eating 7. Recreation and socializing.

Positive faith for me recognizes I can have periods of peace and serenity. On the other hand, I will experience down days in the future. When this happens I know my sad feelings will not last forever and tomorrow I may feel differently. One thing is for certain, I will not wear shoes too small for my feet anymore.

Peace

Larry
