Recovery will give us a new heart, and a new spirit will be put inside of us. Practicing Recovery will remove our heart of cement and give us a new blood supply to the heart making all things new.
Recovery teaches us to replace the cementlike hearts of many of us that are deadening in our spiritual life. Recovery promises to replace our hardened hearts with new hearts. The outcome is a heart of love, kindness, and forgiveness.
In my book, “Superhuman Being” I share the anger and bitterness I felt toward my father. These feelings were the result of several incidents of physical and emotional abuse throughout childhood and early adulthood. For twenty-five years I harbored a cementlike heart toward him. Once I fully committed to Recovery my heart became like quicksand. The journey toward forgiving my father was messy and along the way I got stuck. However, a daily practice of Recovery eventually changed my cementlike heart into sand which I washed away allowing my heart to feel love, kindness, and forgiveness toward him.
My ability to forgive my father was truly a miracle. The bitterness and anger vanished. A hard heart was defeated. Recovery has been busy transplanting hearts and transforming lives for many. It can transform all of our lives.
Is there someone you feel bitterness and anger toward? If so, is it time to heal? Allow Recovery to guide you toward the miracle of a heart transplant.
Have a blessed day-Peace
