Due to the Christmas holiday, my next blog will be on Monday, December 29, 2025.
I hope wherever you are, you know Recovery is with you right where you are.
Recovery entered my world quietly. Have you ever paused to think about that? Recovery did not come with force or a big display. It did not look like power as the world defines it.
One evening, 11 years ago, I was emotionally worn down and desperate to stop suffering. I was in our bedroom, with my wife nearby. In that simple moment, I chose to recover. There was no audience and no sign of greatness as the world sees it. Yet Recovery showed me a different kind of greatness. Recovery came close. It chose simplicity over status and presence over power.
Every event in my life led me to that moment. They led me to a place where waiting turned into wonder. What does this mean for us? Entering Recovery with humility invites us to look at our own lives and hearts. Where do we practice humility? Where do we hold tightly to control, self-reliance, or the need to be seen?
Recovery teaches us that humility is not a sign of weakness. Humility is trust. It is knowing who we are in relationship with God. Recovery does not meet us when everything is perfect. It meets us when we come open, honest, and simple. We can receive Recovery gently, without trying to impress or perform for others.
Reflection on Recovery
Recovery teaches me the beauty of humility and the peace of the present moment that comes from surrender.
Free me from pride and help me walk in love and gentleness.
May my life reflect your heart and make room for emotional and spiritual growth.
Remember, Recovery is here right now in this moment.
Let us embrace it together.
