November 12, 2025 “The Hidden Growth of Recovery!”

I hope wherever you are, you know that Recovery is with you—right where you are.

Have you ever wondered how seeds grow after being scattered in a garden? You simply cover them with soil, water them, and wait. My wife enjoys gardening, but to be honest, I’ve never thought much about how the process really works.

We live in a fast world—one that wants quick answers and instant results. But Recovery doesn’t work that way. Recovery is not instant; it’s slow and steady. It takes patience. Hidden deep within us, Recovery is alive in the present moment and growing quietly through the long journey of life.

Prayer and reflection are part of that slow growth. They take us deeper. Growth in prayer or reflection isn’t measured by strong emotions or visible changes. It happens when we return again and again, even when we feel nothing. This steady faithfulness is where real growth happens—just like a seed growing underground, unseen but full of life. Growth is a grace.

The spiritual journey of Recovery calls us to trust, be humble, surrender, have courage, and stay strong. When we use these words through the lens of Recovery, they take on new meaning. Many people give up because prayer or reflection can feel dry, ordinary, or routine.

But when we don’t feel Recovery, that’s often when we need patience the most. This is the time when faith trumps feelings. To grow deeper in Recovery, we must stop demanding visible progress and simply keep showing up—watering the seeds with prayer and reflection. In time, what is hidden will be revealed.

How do we go deeper in Recovery?

  1. Accept the slow pace of prayer and reflection.

  2. Stay faithful even when we feel nothing.

  3. Thank Recovery for working in hidden ways.
