Recovery is right where we are—right now. Our ability to listen, heal, and grow with Recovery comes from the quiet center within us. Step Eleven reminds us that Recovery is not only an intention, but also an action. Through prayer, reflection, and mindfulness, we open our hearts to guidance from God, or Higher Power, and the people who support us.
Daily devotionals help us connect through prayer and reflection. We don’t come just to learn—we come to deepen our relationship with God, or Higher Power, and with Recovery itself.
Lately, I’ve felt Recovery calling me to be still and listen. Something in my spirit stirs when I slow down. These moments of stillness are powerful. In silence, creativity and prayer or reflection rise. Reflection flows naturally. If you are reading this, maybe Recovery is speaking to you right now.
We all long for peace. Yet, we live in a world full of noise and hurry. Many of us pray while rushing through our days, but God’s voice rarely shouts over chaos—it waits for quiet.
The still center is where prayer or reflection turns into listening. It’s where relationships grow. It’s a calm place inside us that stays steady even when life is moving fast.
If we want to grow in stillness:
Start with no agenda.
Sit in silence and breathe deeply.
Say, “Here I am, God—Higher Power.”
Don’t rush to fill the silence. Let it shape and change us. Over time, our still center will grow stronger than the noise around us.
Peace
Larry
