Please remember in your prayers today my mother, Margaret Ann Winter. This is the fourth anniversary of her passing into eternal life.
I am in the editing process for my second book. It will be 365 Super Reflections, one for each day of the year. Today’s blog is focusing on Day #6. Next to each day, it will select the step related to the reflection. Today is Step #3, “We choose activities that support our Recovery.” I will strive to keep each reflection from 100-125 words.
The topics will encourage us to deepen our Recovery. It will be a tool designed to be timeless. Let me know what you think or provide me with your ideas that will support your Recovery.
Day #6-Step #3
Minding the Present Moment
Mindfulness is living in the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting our feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.
Remaining in the present moment helps us balance our feelings, such as joys and sorrows, in our lives. Mindfulness practice increases our capacity to heal from mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical conditions.
We sit in a chair or lie on our backs. We close our eyes or keep them open. Focus on our breath. When a thought or feeling distracts us, acknowledge it, then let it go. Do this for five minutes or another reasonable amount of time. Schedule a time each day to practice mindfulness.
Mindfulness practice gently guides us from past disturbing thoughts and feelings into the present moment, allowing us to hear the whispers of our hearts and guiding us to pursue our dreams.
