When we leave the shadow and suffering that leads to our healing with its implications for all of us Recovery is everlasting. Recovery does not mince words and presents hard teachings about the road to healing. If we want to walk the same healing path as our brothers and sisters in Recovery we carry our burdens every day which may be substance misuse, abuse, mental health, chronic pain, fear, and family members and loved ones who have left the Christian faith, anger, prejudice, and pride.
Letting go of ourselves goes against the desire to make ourselves acceptable in the eyes of other people. When we live a self-centered life, only, what is best for me is a recipe for disappointment. The way to truly live is to love Recovery and to offer our lives as a gift of love, passion, solidarity, and justice.
This is a way to find ourselves and achieve lasting peace. What is the point of only being accepted by the world only to lose our integrity, self-respect, and dignity as a person? To find true happiness our Recovery community is covered with people who have values greater than themselves. They are SuperHuman Beings – We are all called to “Be Bold.” Our Recovery is not only a sign of victory over our shortcomings but the greatest expression of Recovery’s love for us.
