September 26, 2023 Tools Of The Trade

Sue accumulated five Recovery tools to help manage her mental health condition and addiction, sometimes one stops working. She began to seek another option to place in her care plan. After implementing a few options she found one that was exceptional.

She shares the new tool with her Peer Coach and her friends in Recovery saying, “Be joyful with me, for I have found a new tool to help me continue on my path toward Recovery”.

Why is Sue’s story important? When engaging in a Recovery Program it is not uncommon that a tool we have been using for a while stops working. This can feel defeating only if we allow ourselves to wallow in disappointment.

When a wrench cannot get the job done using a screwdriver will. Persistence allows us to find a new tool to help manage our symptoms. When this occurs we can find joy in our new treasure. Never, Never, Never give up. Seek and we will find. We are worth it!

Peace

Larry
